The Way To Jesus

The most important decision you will ever make in your life is choosing to follow Jesus. It's not just a momentary choice, but it's an eternal decision. Once our last breath has been taken on this earth, we will either be destined for Heaven or Hell. Which path are you currently on? Below is a simple process to understand the way to establish a relationship with the one, True Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. It's our desire that you make it to Heaven!

Steps to follow

There was a man in the Bible whose name was Nicodemus (John 3). He was a ruler of the Jews and he understood the laws given to Moses by God. He came to Jesus one night alone and declared to him that he must have been a teacher come from God, because no man can do these miracles except God be with him. Jesus responded with the simple statement in verse 3 "Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God."

My question to you is, have you been born again?  Let's discuss!

Every man or woman is born into this world as a little baby. We were born in the flesh from our mothers womb and because of this we already have sin in our life (Fleshly Will). Why? Remember Adam and Eve were the first people on this earth. When God made them, He formed them in His likeness and in His own image in the Garden of Eden; however, God still allowed them a choice to either obey or disobey. God created a tree in the garden called the "Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil" and gave the simple commandment to not eat any fruit from that tree. As time passed, Eve was being persuaded by the serpent (The Devil) to eat of that very same tree God asked her not to eat. Eventually, she ate off of the tree and gave to Adam to eat. Sin entered this world when they disobeyed God's command and that same sin still dwells today. (Genesis 3)

The first step to God is we have to acknowledge we need Him to redeem us. Every person in this world is full of sin. The Bible teaches us that "For All have sinned, and come short of the glory of God" Romans 3:23. In 1 John 1:8, it says "If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us."

What is sin? Sin is anything you do that goes against God, His Word, or His Spirit. For example, God's Word tells us not to bear false witness. If I go and tell a lie, I have sinned against God. This may seem like a simple error, but it's sin and it is counted on our record until we repent and ask God for forgiveness. There is also no difference in the level of sin. A murderer is just as guilty as thief. Sin is sin and the only one who never committed any sin was Jesus Christ.

The second step to God comes through repentance. "From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand." Matthew 3:2. Jesus is saying to repent, which means to ask God to forgive you for the sins you have committed in your life and follow him. Accept the fact that Jesus died for you and that while He was on the cross, He was taking your place for the sins you had committed. "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8.

THINK ABOUT IT!  HE TOOK YOUR PLACE SO THAT YOU COULD BE FREE.

The Third Step To God! Believe! "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved" Romans 10:9.

Remember! Jesus did not stay in that tomb after He died on the cross, but HE rose from the dead and is now seated in Heaven and has sent the Holy Ghost to dwell in us. What does this mean for you? Just as Jesus took your place on the cross by death (we were dead in sins), Jesus resurrected in life (those who believe are a born again new creation). "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." 2 Corinthians 5:17.
